Gemini AI and Circle to Search support mark the beginning of the budget AI phone era at around 300,000 KRW
Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy A17 LTE, a budget-friendly smartphone equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features for the Korean market. This new model is notable for bringing AI capabilities—previously exclusive to the high-end Galaxy S series—into the mid- to low-end lineup for the first time.
The Galaxy A17 LTE integrates Google’s generative AI engine Gemini and the Circle to Search function. Users can circle any image on the screen to instantly search for related information, and can easily access AI-powered features such as text summarization and translation.
In addition, Samsung Wallet supports transportation cards, mobile IDs, and digital payments, enhancing daily convenience through AI-based integration.
The Galaxy A17 LTE features a 6.7-inch (169.1 mm) Super AMOLED display with up to a 90Hz refresh rate, offering vivid and smooth visuals.
At 7.5 mm thick and weighing 190 g, the device boasts a slim design and is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery for long-lasting use.
On the back, it includes a triple camera setup centered around a 50MP wide-angle lens, complemented by ultra-wide and macro sensors.
Priced at 319,000 KRW, the model makes AI functions more accessible to value-conscious consumers. It comes in three colors—Black, Light Blue, and Gray—and is available through all three major Korean carriers as well as an unlocked version.
Jung Ho-jin, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Korea, said, “This product combines key smartphone elements—display, camera, design, and AI features—at a reasonable price,” adding that the company “will continue to pursue customer-centered AI innovation.”
